Rebecca Saffert, Principal

Rebecca Saffert was named principal of Cary-Grove High School in 2023 after serving the school as vice principal for 12 years. She joined the district as a math teacher at Crystal Lake South and taught at Cary-Grove for nine years before moving into the role of dean of students. At Cary-Grove, Safftert has played an integral role in implementing the manufacturing lab, theater, learning kitchen, and collaboration space. She was named the Vice Principal of the Year in 2017 by the Illinois Principal Association. She has earned recognition for her leadership being named a woman of distinction in 2015 for her work creating Parent University for District 155. She has a bachelor’s in business finance from Western Illinois University, a teaching endorsement from Northeastern Illinois, a master’s in curriculum and instruction from North Central University, and a master’s in administration from Northern Illinois University.
